Sarah does signs and custom lettering, Here she shares step-by-step instructions for applying vinyl
lettering to your wall, craft or just about anything.
Decide where you want to place the vinyl. Make sure the surface is clean and smooth. Vinyl will not adhere to stucco or brick like surfaces. Words can be cut apart and stacked in rows, or arranged however you would like them to be. This is what the vinyl will look like when you get it. The quote has a transfer tape (looks and feels like masking tape).
Rub the surface of transfer tape to insure the quote is adhered solidly to the transfer tape. (Letters may pull away from transfer tape during shipping). Carefully peel the transfer tape away from backing paper, making sure that the vinyl sticks to the transfer tape.
Once the transfer tape and quote are removed completely from the paper backing place it on the wall. Once you can see it is straight within your markings. Using a squeegee (or something similar, credit cards work well) carefully press any air bubbles out from underneath the words. Rub again, apply more pressure over the entire area.
Once you have rubbed it clear of any bubbles, carefully peel back the transfer tape. This will leave the quote on your surface for you to enjoy your new look and the inspiring words.
