For the month of January for Sharing time we took a plane ride - had six children come in the middle of the room and sit in rows like a plane ride. They were given plane tickets that read - Salvation Air with a departure: pre-mortal life, layover - earth life and destination - Celestial Life. For the pre-mortal life we did the activities in the 2nd weeks ideas for Sharing time - blindfold, draw a picture, puzzle and Lucifer's plan to show what we learned in the pre-mortal life. We involved the other primary children with these activities. Then we took the plane ride to earth life to learn, choose, and prepare for eternal life. We showed our suitcase of items we need to reach our final destination - baptism, temple work, repentance, scriptures and our family. We had turbulence on our plane ride and talked about making choices and what happens when we make wrong choices. We put different choices we make on cards and placed them under all the the chairs and talked about the choices. The airplane took off and we then spoke about life after death and about the three different kingdoms. We showed them examples of the three different kingdoms with airplane food. Telestial Kingdom - bread and water on paper plates, Terestial Kingdom - boxed cereal and milk on everyday plates and the Celestial Kingdom - the works - on nice china with waffles, fruit, muffins, juice, hot chocolate with whipping cream, etc. The children seemed to have fun with these activities.
I just picked six children for the plane ride but the rest of the children would do the other activities - blindfold, drawing, puzzle, getting things out of the suitcase, choice cards. The children on the plane ride in the middle didn't do too much more but were used as an example of our trip through the plan of salvation. For the food they will just see the examples and not get to eat the actual food.© 2005-2016 Sugardoodle.net - Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions
