Singing in the Rain
I am in the Stake Primary and we visited a ward in our stake yesterday. While there, they sang the "Hello Song" to us. Instead of singing it as it is written, they sang...
Bonjour! Hola! Konnichiwa
We welcome you today. (Hola!)
Bonjour! Hola! Konnichiwa
We're glad you came our way
To share with us our Primary day
And be our friend in a very special way.
Bonjour! Hola! Konnichiwa
We welcome you today.
The music leader said it wasn't her idea, but it was such a fun variation of the song, I wanted to share it. [pdf] Our music leader is awesome! She has a bunch of flags from different countries and the new person picks one and that is the language we use to say "hello". (Shared by Cynthia Poulton) (Here is a great website that gives you 800 ways to say hello!)
We have a pencil can that we have full of flags from around the world, about 15. On one side is the flag and on the other we have the country, the language, and hello in that language. Whenever we have a visitor we pick 2 flags and one half says hello in one language and the other half in the other language. The kids love it. (Idea by Angella in Washington)
