OBJECT LESSONS:

Make yourself a bowl of oatmeal for lunch and DON'T wash the bowl.  Leave it on the counter until it becomes hard and awful to clean. Then for family home evening (as an intro) ask one of your children to wash the bowl by hand. It will take a lot of effort. You could even have your children take turns scrubbing the bowl.  Then compare how much easier it would have been to clean had you done it right away. The longer it sat, the harder it was to clean.  This is just like our home. If you clean something right away, it takes moments to tidy. However, the longer you wait to clean, it feels impossible to stay on top of.
