SHARING TIME IDEAS: Ammon’s Example: How Do I Show That I am Keeping My Baptismal Covenant?
I am taking our Primary into the future. I will introduce my sharing time with how Ammon became a good missionary because he prepared himself just as each of them can. As I read Alma 17:2-3 I will have them raise their hand when they hear how Ammon prepared to be a missionary. This is where my time machine comes in. I have made a curtain enclosure for one of our entrance doors (we have 2 doors to our room) where I will place a pre-chosen child to enter. As we repeat 3X "I hope they call me on a mission" the child will be replaced with their parent who will enter the machine. I have previously instructed them on what to present. They will relate stories about things in their lives that prepared them to serve a mission. They can include anything from doing laundry to daily scripture study and prayer. I also ask them to share choices that affected their lives for good so they would be worthy to serve a mission. Close with testimony and return to time machine. I have chosen one child and parent per Jr. and Sr. Primary. After the parent enters back into the machine we will sing, "I hope they call me on a mission" while the child is placed back into the machine and then enters the room. Then I will encourage each of them to remember what they can do to be a missionary now." (Idea by Lisa / ga08302011)
