LESSON HELPS: Angela's Lesson Helps
For this lesson I'm going to get each girl a frame and a picture of the Saviour which will be in jigsaw pieces with the 15 scriptures from this lesson on the back, and space for their own favourite scripture about the Saviour. As we read the scriptures in the lesson they will be able to put the piece into the frame and by the end they will have built their picture of the Saviour. I just know that these things for me happen bit by bit and I hope the girls learn that they can know Him better through the scriptures so they can build their faith. (Shared by Harriet Mace / ga01052012)
I found this video, with the song "His Hands" that I have downloaded onto my lap top. For a handout, I'm giving them a liquid hand soap bottle with the label removed and then a transparency printed out with the lyrics to His hands (in a variety of fonts) put inside the bottle so you can see it thru the soap. The words are: Clean Hands, loving hands, caring hands, friendly hands, PRAYING HANDS, Kind Hands, giving hands, willing hands, strong hands, helping hands
I plan to make these soap bottles for my girls and I also have a hand shaped cookie cutter that I plan to use to make frosted sugar cookies. I would like to attach a tag that says " I will make my hands like those from Gallilee" (from the song I will make the tag on the cookies a bookmark and that will make it more lastingly meaningful. (Shared by W. Erickson / ga01102012) I put a picture of Christ outside our classroom on a small table, then before I started the lesson I asked one of the girls to go out and invite the Savior to join us for our lesson. They brought the table with the picture of Christ on it to the front of the class. The girls were really all in kind of a hyper mood when we started and told me they didn't think they could settle down, so it worked perfect to invite the Savior into the room, because it did help them to settle down and they listened through the entire lesson. I was prompted to let the girls bear testimony of the Savior and what He meant to them, and it was the neatest way to end the lesson. I bore my testimony and then I did a handout. It was a small mailbox that I got from the Target dollar bins. It had a flag that went up and I tied a picture of the Savior with curly ribbon onto it. I wrote down my testimony of the Savior and then wrote a personal note under neath it, one to each girl (I've only got 5) and put their letters in their mailbox. I also included a small bag of jewel dots and told them to put those dots wherever they would see them, and to remember when they saw them what they stood for (Depend On The Savior)." I'm going to read the parable of the school teacher that President Hinckley shared here. (Shared by Ariel Capella / ga01142012)
We all took some dark ruby red nail polish and made a dot on our cell phones (back in my day it was on our watches). This dot is to remind us every time we see it of the Savior, who He is and what He did for "me" individually. That He loves me! The girls LOVED this! One of my Laurels told me this week that it really works...that she is thinking more about the Savior and therefore how she should live her life. (Idea by Jennifer Peterson)

No Greater Gift from BYU Womens Conference (2007) (2013) Our Savior lived a perfect life. Then he suffered and descended below all things to come forth in glory, holding out to us the greatest gift - eternal life. Our choices in this life will determine what degree of happiness and glory we will receive from this precious gift the Savior offers.

OBJECT LESSONS:
I am going to provide an object under each girl's chair that will be able to do a crayon rub on, ex: leaf, lace, anything with a texture, etc.. Each object will be assigned a trait, whether it is good (following Jesus), or bad (stealing, drugs, etc)... The girls will rub a crayon on top of their trait and they will be able to see that each behavior rubs off whether it is a good or a bad behavior. I think the most effective part of the object lesson is this, even though you may not be participating with your friends that are choosing a bad activity it will still rub off on you. (Source)
