LESSON HELPS: This is no harm by Marvin J. Ashton
Questions and Answers (New Era, Sept. 1991, p. 17)
OBJECT LESSONS: Armor of God - This object lesson could be used to show how we lose protection when we sin (cheat)
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS: I am a good student, and sometimes people ask to copy my homework or answers on a test. I know it’s wrong to give them the answers, but I don’t want to seem like a snob. How do I handle this situation?
I know it’s wrong to cheat. But so many kids at school do, that I’m afraid they’ll beat me out for scholarships. Don’t I deserve an equal chance?
There’s a lot of cheating going on in my school classes. I almost feel that if I don’t cheat too I won’t be able to compete. I’ve also heard that businessmen often have to bend the rules a little to survive. Don’t circumstances sometimes determine what’s right and wrong?
QUOTES: "Cheating robs virtue, it robs loyalty, it robs sacred promises, it robs self-respect, it robs truth. It involves deception." (Gordon B. Hinckley, “We Believe in Being Honest,” Ensign, Oct 1990, 2)
