My husband and I were visiting a ward in Park City, Utah and there was a youth speaker that gave
a talk on gratitude.  There was one part of his talk that we loved so much that we went up after
Sacrament Meeting to get the exact quote.  This is what he said,

“In Luke 17, we learn about the story of the Ten Lepers.  Too often, we find ourselves acting like
one of the nine lepers.  Our society is one of instant gratification and conditions us to complain.  I’ve heard it
explained as, ‘We have become use to what is awesome, so what is awesome is now normal…so now
what is [truly] awesome makes us angry and impatient.”

Draw your gratitude - Pass out paper and crayons and markers.  Have everyone draw something they are grateful for.

The Thank-You Plate - Get five big plates, make treats, and have your family write a letter to another family expressing appreciation for their friendship, service and neighborly kindness.  Drop off the plates and treats with instructions to pass it on.

CRAFT IDEAS:

 Ten Lepers.  Give each person 10 craft popsicle sticks. Let them draw the 10 sad lepers on one side of the sticks. (You may want to glue small pieces of cotton on the stick for the leprosy or use white crayon.) Then let them draw 10 happy people on the other side of the sticks. Practice telling the story and acting it out with the 10 sticks.  (Idea by Mission Arlington)

Pebble in my Shoe - Sometimes we cannot recognize our sweet blessings because we are dwelling on the "pebble in our shoe"
The best object lesson I have ever heard on gratitude (especially for what the Savior has done for us) is that being ungrateful for the Savior's sacrifice or refusing to accept the love of the Savior or his forgiveness in our lives is like if you spent months choosing the perfect birthday gift for person you love the most. You had sold everything you owned to purchase this special gift. Then, when it came time to give the gift, which you had wrapped in the most costly and beautiful wrapping you could find, the receiver simply looked at your package and said, "no thanks" without even opening it. The thought of how that would feel reminds me everyday to thank my Heavenly Father for the sacrifice of the Savior and recognize His hand in all the blessing I receive in this life and the blessings I will receive in the life to come. SHARING TIME IDEAS:

I am thankful for all that Heavenly Father has given me  
I took along some of my baby sons alphabet blocks so they children could draw them out of a box.  I introduced the sharing time and told them we were going to build a tower and see if we could get a really high tower to show how many wonderful blessings they had.  I used our 'Uno Stacker Blocks/Jenga' and so with each guess at a blessing they got to add a block to our blessing tower.  So we went round and they took turns picking a letter and guessing at a blessing, if they got stuck then we helped them out.
