5. Object Lesson - Give a person a bag marked good choices (fill this bag full of legos). Give a second person a bag marked bad choices (fill it with broken sticks a empty container of glue, etc). Each child was asked to build the best house they could with what was provided in the sack. Of course the Lego house went up quickly, the other person struggled to make anything with the bag of bad choices. This could help reinforce the importance of choosing the right.

9. Discuss how CTR stands for Choose The Right. Then talk about what their initials are. Print out a page for each child with their initials that says: (example) "NH will CTR". If you choose a big font and print the outline of the letters, then each child can color the letters and make their own CTR poster. (Idea by Natalie Hill / ga01072008)
10. For the bird story I cut brown paper using my paper shredder. I put it in a round container that I found at home. I then typed up the questions for the stories and numbered them 1-7. I put each one of the questions in the plastic eggs that I also numbered 1-7 on the outside of each egg. Then I put all the eggs in the "nest" I made. When one of the questions come up in the story I will ask one of the children to pick the egg that correlates with the numbered question. (Idea by Angie Sutton / ga01092010)
ADDITIONAL NOTE - I used Angie Sutton's idea (above) to teach the story "The Nest". One of the little girls in my class asked if she could have one of the plastic eggs I used for the story. I didn't have enough for each child and so I told her and the rest of the class that I would bring one the following week. I decided to place a small picture of Jesus in each egg with the question, "What would Jesus do?" and give one to each child as a follow up the next week for lesson 3. I found some plastic eggs at home that happened to have smiley faces on them. I thought this was perfect since we talked about how happy it makes us feel when we do what Jesus wants us to do. If you can't find eggs with smiley faces printed on them, you could draw one on each plastic egg with a permanent marker. [pdf] [Word] (Shared by Jessica Steele of Kaysville, Utah / ga01212014)
11. Choose the Right Treasure Hunt - In this lesson there is a set of five questions. Instead of just asking the children the questions directly....make it into a treasure hunt. What you need to do before hand: Get five little envelopes. Each one will contain a question and two possible answers. Ask the class the question and read the two possible answers. As a class, you decide which one is right.
For example, "You are building with your blocks. Your baby sister knocks over what you have made."
a. You should get mad at her and tell her she can never play with you again. If this is the correct answer, look for the envelope on the drinking fountain.
b. Have your baby sister help you build something new. You'll probably have to help her as she isn't as good as you! If you think this is the right answer go find the envelope on the bishop's office door.
Have the last clue lead back to the class room.

15. Lesson 2 Treasure Hunt [pdf] - "I made the CTR scenarios from the manual into a generic treasure hunt that could be used in almost any building. I told my class the clues were posted on the outside door of each room and not to open any of the doors. This way I hoped to avoid disturbing any other class. I also reinforced reverence as they traveled from clue to clue. If you print off the PDF as 4 pages per sheet you get nice square sized clues to post." (Shared by Rachel Ogilvie / ga01072012)
