6. Object Lesson - A paper chain is a great idea to show how we are all connected to each other, not just to those in our immediate family but to those who came before us. Circles also represent eternity because there is not a beginning nor an end. We are the eternal children of Heavenly Father. If we connect the beginning of the chain with the end, we are showing that no one is better than another and that we all have the same chance of returning to our Father in Heaven and are equally loved by him.

10. First we talked about families. As the children listed off people in their family (me, mom, dad, cousins, uncle, etc.) I wrote them on strips of paper. Then we arranged the strips on the board like a family tree. Finally, we talked about how the temple links the family together forever and as we talked, I took the strips of paper and made rings and linked them together using temple stickers. Each child then got several strips of paper to write on and make their own chains to take home. They even came up with the idea of linking all their chains together to make an even bigger one and I was able to talk about us all being a big spiritual family and part of Heavenly Father and Jesus' family. Jesus was one of the names they gave me for the paper chain. (Idea shared by Carolyn Frances / ga06082008)
11. I made a Bingo game for an enrichment activity. I copied pictures from your clipart of families, moms and dads with children. Most of my children had never played Bingo before but caught on fast. We were able to play 2 times after the lesson. I got the bingo idea from the Sunbeam lesson enrichment ideas. (Idea by Tammie Brooks / ga02152010)
12. I just thought I would share a simple craft we are doing for our class, having to do with the lesson about family. At the end of the lesson we are going to make these...circular paper dolls and the kids can decorate as they want to represent their families. They can add whoever they want o their circle. I also have a foldable temple cutout I got from the lds.org (I don`t remember where) that we will make and add to the middle if we have time. (Idea by Chris Léger / Primary Yahoo Group)
13. Here is a Family Dice Pattern created by Leslie to go along with this activity. Have the children roll the dice and see if they can create a family with a mother and father with children. Maybe one that matches their own family.
