5. I found some nice-sized flat rocks...with a magic marker I wrote the scripture reference: Matthew 7:24-27 and the words "The gospel of Jesus Christ". On the other side of the rock I instructed the childen to draw a house. It went perfectly with the theme of the lesson. (Idea shared by Christine Maynor / ga10172012)

7. Build your house upon a rock by Jeana Patnaik
8. You could adapt some of the ideas in this FHE if you have extra time.
9. Demonstrate how a house on a rock remains standing. Make two simple houses out of lightweight cardboard. In a large pan, put one house on a pile of sand and securely tape the other house to a rock. Pour a “floor” of water into the pan and show that the water will wash away the sand, but that the house on the rock will be safe.
10. Label rocks or building blocks with ways to build your testimony. Discuss why each is important.
