5. A Sunday Box - You could help the children make a smaller version of a Sunday Box....something they can add to in time.
6. Gather items mentioned in the song, "Saturday". Items may include nail clippers, nail file or emery board, shampoo, soap, shoe polish, shopping/grocery bag,. . . use your imagination. Place items on a tray and have class members memorize the objects for one minute. Have one person will take away one object while everyone else has their eyes closed. Then have them open their eyes. Choose one person to guess which item is missing. Repeat until everyone has had a turn. You could also take turns removing the object.

8. Object Lesson - Show the children the flashlight. Turn it on and ask them what makes it work (batteries). Ask them what would happen if you left the flashlight on for a very long time (the batteries would go dead and it would no longer work). Explain that if the batteries are recharged on a regular basis, then it will continue to work for a long time. People also need to be recharged, both physically and spiritually, to continue to work well. Our spiritual battery recharger is a holy day called the Sabbath. If on a weekly basis we recharge our spirits, we will remain stronger through the rest of the week.

14. Wendy McBride writes, "When I taught this lesson a couple of weeks ago, I made a bean bag toss game for the children. I wrote appropriate Sabbath activities on pieces of paper, and scattered them around on the floor. Then I divided them into teams. Each child tossed 3-4 beanbags, trying to land them on the Sabbath activities. If they did, their team got a point for each beanbag that landed on an appropriate activity. Variation for older children: Add papers with inappropriate Sabbath activities, and deduct points for bean bags that land on the inappropriate activities." (ga11152016)
15. Earlier in the lesson the children used smiley/sad faces to show whether an activity was appropriate or inappropriate for the Sabbath instead of smiling/frowning as suggested in the lesson. (Shared by Wendy McBride / ga11152016)
