This is a song/game we taught our nursery about Pres. Hinckley. We had talked about him alot last year, but none of them would ever remember his name. After using this song for a couple of weeks wow-they all could say his name. It was great!!
You need a 8 x 10 picture of Pres. Hinckley. Show it while you sing it the first time, then sing it again and hide it under someone's chair, or other easy to see place, as you start to sing the song. It doesn't matter if they see you hiding it in nursery, it still the same fun!
Tune: Where Is Thumpkin
President Hinckley, President Hinckley (Hide picture)
Where are you, where are you? (Lift shoulders and hands in question)
We Love to see the prophet, we love to see the prophet (point to picture in it's hiding place)
He loves us, he loves us. (Hands over heart)
Whoever has the picture under their chair brings it upfront and hides it next before or as you start to sing. In nursery they get mixed up, some won't get the picture if it's under their chair, or an outgoing one will get it from someone else's chair. I say "Thanks John for helping Janie get the picture under her chair, she needed some help." Then I let Janie hide it if she wants to if she doesn't I let John do it. I try not to get too technical on whose turn it is, if one of them is too shy and one takes over the hiding, just gently in a positive way hand it to one who should have the next turn. After a couple of weeks they all want to hide it first - so I give everyone a wallet size picture of Pres. Hinckley to hide, they all put it under their own chair usually. It is adorable. When they leave nursery, they get to take one of the wallet size home their last week.
